NEW YEAR’S DAY (January 1)
New Year's Day is a holiday celebrated throughout Spain to welcome the start of a new year. Each Spanish town and municipality in the country will have a party in the main square, accompanied typically the Plaza Mayor, often with music and fireworks. Many Spaniards celebrate the adoption of the old year by eating 12 grapes, one for each month of the year in each ring of the twelve links in the new year. Day of the Magi (January 6)
