With more than 100 Boston hotels to choose from, how do you pick the best place to stay when you visit the city?  Here are the top 5 tips for picking the best Boston accommodations for you.

Tip 1:  Choose a convenient location.  With so many hotel choices, you might as well be close to where you plan to spend most of your time while you're in the city.  Not only will you save money on taxi and subway fares, but even more important, you'll save transit time.  And in the time you save, you can explore more of the city.

Many Boston visitors think that choosing a Boston hotel location means picking Downtown or Back Bay...and not surprisingly, these are the neighborhoods where you'll find most of the city's hotels.  If you're here for a business meeting in the Financial District, then that's where you'll want to stay.  If you're planning a vacation of shopping, eating in some of the city's finest restaurants, seeing a concert or two, and strolling through streets filled with Victorian mansions, then you'll want a Back Bay hotel. 

But beyond these 2 general locations, you'll find lots of additional choices to suit your needs.  Are you here for a Red Sox game at Fenway Park and perhaps some celebratory fun afterward at nearby sports bars and nightspots?  You'll want to consider nearby hotels in the Fenway neighborhood such as Hotel Buckminster or Hotel Commonwealth.

Britain has a lot to offer for a short break and many people are choosing to stay closer to home for holidays.
